I work at Electric Zombie, and aftercare sheets vary between shops, but this is what's on ours:
NEW TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
- Leave bandage on for 1-4 hours.
- Rinse under warm water (NO SUBMERGING)
- Gradually increase heat until it gets as hot as you can stand it. (This will allow pores to open and rinse out blood, body fluids, and excess ink.
- Wash tattoo with hand and anti-bacterial unscented soap until tattoo is smooth to touch after rinse. Tattoo should not feel slimy when done.
- Air dry for 15-20 minutes.
- Apply a very thin coat of ointment (Bacitracin, Neosporin) 2-3 times a day for 2-3 days.
- Wipe off excess ointment with a paper towel.
- Switch to a mild lotion (cocoa butter, Aveeno, Jergens, Lubriderm) after 2-3 days.
Seeping is normal! If this occurs, repeat steps 2-8.
TANNING MAY CAUSE SCABBING OR BLISTERING!
Healing time: 2-3 weeks
DO NOT:
- no re-bandaging
